Indiegoat is a non-profit blog/zine run by and for lovers of the Penang independent arts scene. We started out in early 2008 covering only music but since November, we’ve been covering all corners of indie art forms. If you want to know more, read this and this.

Who?

The six of us are Ah Cheong from Soundmaker Studio and Hui Se Di Dai, Alvin from Whitelight, Freddie, Sam, Daniel and Kris.

Advertise and support us

We’re looking for supporters of the independent arts to help us by advertising on our website with a rectangle size banner (180×150px). Examples are art galleries, community-run music stores and anything else supporting the local independent arts scene. The money will be used to help cover our hosting and domain fees and to hire freelance writers and photographers, so please contact us if you’re interested.

Write and shoot for us

When we’re not having transcendental experiences, we can’t be at two places at the same time, so if you can write well, love art and can take decent photos, please email us below.

What’s the story behind the name?

We used to tell people that we thought about the name while having sup kambing but that was just a story we made up. Honestly speaking, we have no idea!
